Christophe Lacroix is Professor for Food Biotechnology at ETH-Zurich, since 2002, after being Professor of Dairy Biotechnology for 18 years at Université Laval, Quebec, Canada. His main research interests include the fundamental and technological characterization of functional microbes and their roles in food production and in intestinal ecosystems His research includes food and gut ecosystem study, microbe screening, functional characterization including mechanisms, microbial technology, gut microbiota modeling and intestinal research (in vitro and in vivo). He is co-founder for the ETH-Spinoff PharmaBiome AG, specialized in the isolation, characterization and technology of novel intestinal strict anaerobic microbes for developing microbial therapeutics.
