Burlington Hotel in Dublin, Ireland

Located on the east coast, Dublin is the capital of the Republic of Ireland and its largest city. In the 1990s, the city was at the forefront of the rapid economic development that led to Ireland becoming known as the Celtic Tiger. Today it is a major European destination, the place to find a perfect pint of Guinness and gorgeous Georgian architecture.

Party in Temple Bar, immerse yourself in ancient history at the National Museums of Ireland, discover the city’s literary heroes at the Dublin Writers’ Museum or just kick back and relax in one of the many pubs, known for their friendliness and live music performances. The choice is yours, just don't miss out on the craic.

The Burlington Hotel is Dublin’s largest conference venue and its premier business hotel. It is situated in the centre of city, a short walk from Dublin’s most famous attractions. Car parking is available at the hotel (payable locally) and it is well connected by bus, coach and train to the airport, ferry port and the rest of Ireland.

How to get there

Dublin is extremely accessible by both air and sea, with Dublin Airport, Dublin Port and Dun Laoghaire Harbour within easy access of the city.

By Air: Dublin International Airport is about 12km north from the city centre, and is well serviced by buses and taxis. A taxi to the city centre should cost approximately €25. There is a taxi rank outside the Arrivals concourse. There are several Dublin bus services operating from directly outside the terminal building. The regular bus service (numbers 41/16a) takes about 45 minutes to reach the city centre. There is also an Airport Express coach service – Airlink – which takes approximately 30 mins to reach the centre of the city. Aircoach, a private operator, runs its distinctive blue air-conditioned luxury coaches between Dublin Airport and Ballsbridge, via the city centre, servicing many hotels and B&Bs.

By Sea: Dublin Port is centrally located, only minutes from Dublin City Centre. It is Ireland’s busiest passenger ferry port with up to 18 sailings daily to the UK and the continent. Dún Laoghaire Harbour is located 7 miles south of Dublin city and 16 miles from Dublin Airport.  Dún Laoghaire is serviced by the DART (Suburban Rail) which can take you to and from the City Centre in less than half an hour. Dun Laoghaire is also serviced regularly by Dublin Bus.

By Rail: Dublin’s two main train stations Connolly Station and Heuston Station are vital hubs for the city transporting thousands of commuters and visitors to and around the city everyday. Intercity services run from Dublin’s Heuston and Connolly Stations to the major towns and cities in the country. Commuter rail covers commuter routes to Dublin and the DART the towns along Dublin Bay. Dublin is also served by LUAS, a state of the art light rail transit system. The LUAS provides a valuable rail link for commuters and visitors from Sandyford and Tallaght to the City Centre as well as linking Connolly and Hueston Rail Stations.
